A journey of passion and purpose

Professional experience
With over 20 years of experience in the energy sector across Africa, Europe, and North America, I have cultivated a diverse skill set. My career began at Guaranty Trust Assurance, a subsidiary of Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, where I started as a Bancassurance Associate. This role provided a solid foundation for my subsequent positions, including Projects and Programs Manager at Shell and Avangrid in the United States. Currently, I am the Construction Utility Project Manager at the Iberdrola Group, where I manage grid and infrastructure reliability projects. My focus is on energy development and grid reliability, and I am dedicated to driving innovation and excellence in my field. I have had the privilege of collaborating with talented professionals and contributing to projects that have received international awards and recognition.

Personal and social achievements
Beyond my professional pursuits, I am deeply committed to community service and social impact. In honor of my late father, Engr. G.G. Adegoke (Agboworin), I founded the Agboworin Foundation, which focuses on sustainable energy development to enhance rural economic growth in Nigeria. I also co-developed the Empower Nigeria initiative, aimed at creating pathways to prosperity in rural areas through programs that support girls in energy projects and empower youth in climate and AI fields.
I actively engage in various community development initiatives and contribute to the African Diaspora Community Forum. My leadership in community engagement projects includes promoting job creation through investments in African-centered development centers, such as the former Sidaz Place in Newark, New Jersey. One of my proudest achievements is establishing a training center in Kwara State, which serves as a mentoring platform for local youth. This experience has reinforced my belief in the power of collective action and the significance of giving back to society.

Future political aspirations
My aspiration is not to run for political office but to contribute in a technical capacity to the development of Africa's energy sector. I aim to advise African governments and leaders on sustainable practices that enhance power reliability and accessibility, drawing from my international experience.
Looking ahead, I am eager to engage with the political landscape by influencing policy and promoting sustainability in the energy space. I believe that effective leadership can drive meaningful change, and I am dedicated to being a voice for the communities and issues I care about. My vision is to create a positive impact by fostering collaboration, transparency, and inclusivity in governance, using my professional background and community involvement as a foundation for this work.
